Amanda D. Yasbek (fka Berger)

Amanda D. Yasbek began her own law practice because she wanted to provide her clients with competent legal representation. Ms. Yasbek is passionate about advocating for her clients needs.

Ms. Yasbek received her Juris Doctorate from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and was admitted to the State Bar of California. Ms. Yasbek studied International Law and received her International Legal Studies certificate after studying abroad in Salzburg Austria. Ms. Yasbek was honored to be taught by Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy in Austria.
Prior to opening her own practice, she obtained her experience and knowledge working with other reputable firms. Ms. Yasbek received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice at University of Phoenix.
Ms. Yasbek is a Certified Family Law Specialist and a member of Wealth Counsel. She is able to provide competent legal representation for all your family law and estate planning needs.
Ms. Yasbek is very active in the community. She has served on non-profit boards and she spends time giving back to those in need.
You can usually find Ms. Yasbek spending time with her husband, their daughter and dog in Tahoe, with family or traveling when she is not at the office.

Kristen L. Bruce

Associate Attorney

Kristen received her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from California State University Sacramento, and her Juris Doctorate from Lincoln Law School.  Before becoming an attorney, Kristen gained over 10 years of Family Law experience while working as a legal assistant/paralegal for reputable attorneys practicing in El Dorado, Placer, and Sacramento Counties.  Prior to joining Onyx Law Office, Kristen worked as a contractor in the Affirmative Civil Enforcement Unit with the US Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of California. With Kristen’s experience and desire to help clients walk through difficult situations, she is an asset to Onyx Law Office.

Outside of the office, Kristen devotes her time to her family and enjoys walking the Folsom trails with her dog.

Alexis Arriaga

Law Clerk

Alexis received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX, and earned her Juris Doctorate from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. Alexis works on the team as a Law Clerk however she is actively working towards becoming an attorney.
In addition to working at Onyx Law Firm, Alexis has also worked at the Sacramento County Public Defender’s Office as a Certified Law Student, and at Pacific Justice Institute as a legal assistant. Alexis Arriaga is a Texas native, and currently lives in Sacramento with her fiancé, and her fur son, Leo.
In her free time Alexis enjoys the outdoors and getting involved in the local community through civic engagement.

Katelyn Davis

Senior Paralegal

Katelyn Davis received her bachelor’s degree in Deaf Studies/ American Sign Language from Sacramento State University. Following her bachelor’s degree, Katelyn received her paralegal certification in 2021, which began her paralegal career within family law.
Katelyn is an experienced senior paralegal who is passionate about helping clients through difficult times. She is known for her dedication, honesty, and can-do attitude to deliver the best outcomes possible for our clients.
When not at the office, you can find Katelyn exploring the outdoors with her husband and dog.

Lauren Stokes

Legal Assistant

Lauren received her bachelor’s degree in Social Behavioral Science with an emphasis in Political Economy from California State University of Monterey Bay. She has experience working within the accounting realm, medical field, personal injury law, and enjoys being a conduit for all clients.
She loves to challenge herself and enjoys learning new things. She is currently attending Lincoln Law School and is scheduled to graduate in 2025. Her goal is to gain fundamental knowledge and experience in the legal field while working at Onyx Law Office. She chose the area of family law because she enjoys being an advocate for the voiceless, especially during challenging times.
When not studying for exams, Lauren enjoys spending time with family and friends doing outdoor activities such as hiking, piloting remote control planes, driving remote control cars, or running by the Sacramento River.
